Welcome to Tai Ji Circle’s Three Day Whitsun Tai Chi training Seminar with Shifu Liu Quanjun.
Relax, don’t worry and enjoy!

This is an important workshop for all levels of qi gong and taiji practitioner with an emphasis on Nei Gong, or internal training which is an essential aspect of qi gong and taiji practice. During this three day workshop, Shifu Liu wishes his students to build and feel the movement and flow of internal energy, as well as improving our posture, coordination and balance. All the training, especially the Qi Gong practice with sounds and movement will support the internal organs, in particular the ‘wood’ element which corresponds to the liver, and the Spring season. This will help us to prepare for the ‘fire’ element of the Summer as we change seasons.

Morning Qi Gong Sessions
The morning sessions will cover different aspects of Da Bei Qi Gong training, starting at the introductory level and building on nei gong practice over the three days to take in the moving Da Bei Qi Gong form and working with Da Bei Healing sounds for the internal organs.

Afternoon Taijiquan Sessions
To enhance and deepen our practice we will be working on all Chen Foundation training with forms practice during the afternoons, including Standing Post, all the Silk Reeling standing and stepping variations built up over the three days, with the Four Direction short Form. On the last afternoon we will be doing the 19 Form with martial applications.

Everyone is welcome.

There will be regular refreshment breaks between sessions.

Tai Ji Circle’s second Beginners Chen Tai Chi Foundation workshop of 2019


6th Duan Shifu Liu, will work with standing, and silk reeling exercises which are the basic essentials and foundation for Chen Taijiquan (Tai Chi Chuan) training. Specifically improving the standing and stepping silk reeling exercises and some martial applications, or teaching a short form if there is time.


Standing practice, (called Zhan Zhaung), begins the process of internal discovery, relaxes, realigns and strengthens the body to improve your posture. Silk reeling exercise training improves coordination and leads you to sense the energetic changes that take place in the body through the accurate alignment, placement and movement of the body, as well as reflecting the martial, medical and philosophical aspects of the buy xanax with paypal training such as weight changing and the exchange of yin yang in movement (eg. light/heavy or open/close). If there is time we will also teach a short Chen Form or practice some martial techniques during the workshop.


This will be a practical workshop, Shifu Liu will correct your body posture and movements, and we hope that you will gain a better understanding of the requirements and the underlying principles of tai ji training.


It is best to wear lose comfortable clothes, flat shoes, and not to eat a very heavy meal just before training.


As it is a four hour workshop, there will be refreshment breaks and the opportunity to ask questions.


Suitable for all levels and new students to Chen Taijiquan.

Push Hands with Master Chen

On our last day with Master Chen Ziqiang we will study Chen Push Hands and martial applications at Haverstock School Sports Hall in Chalk Farm, Camden.

The practice of Tui Shou (Push hands) is the application of different forms with a partner under different conditions. The aim is to understand the other person’s internal qi (energy), how it moves, their balance and coordination, buy xanax silk road, constantly restructuring your own balance and coordination accordingly. We are very fortunate to be able to learn the exciting Chen Double swords form with Master Chen over two days, from Friday afternoon to evening and all day Saturday at Haversack School Sports Hall in Chalk Farm, Camden.

Double Swords is a beautiful and powerful weapon form containing many circular defensive and attacking techniques. After a much practice each attack and defence should be executed with speed and force. Taiji Ball with Master Chen

On the evening of Thursday 11 April at St Paul’s Church Hall and is the Chen Taiji Ball workshop. The aim is to keep the ball moving smoothly all the time, the way the ball moves reflects your body movement. We need to use silk reeling/Chansi Gong techniques when practicing the routine.

Hold the ball on the palm without bending the fingers to grasp it. Use the body to move the ball, while the ball is supported by the weight on the opposite leg to the side it is being held. When accustomed to the routine you can use a weighted ball with weight up to one kilo.

This is a short routine which can be practised for health and well being, it is both easy and fun to learn.

Master Chen’s Dajia Yi Lu Form

The second of Master Chen’s seminars is on the evening of Tuesday 9 April at the Islington Chinese Association and is Dajia 1st Routine. It is a simplified form based on a combination of several traditional Chen routines. The form is mostly practiced to cultivate and replenish qi, so as to improve physical constitution and to buy xanax cambodia promote health.
